July to September Newsletter

Goods donation from friends of England

The end of July brought a big donation of goods which were sent with a container from the UK.
It included many things that are very much needed by the poor children at MOET like clothes and writing material. Many thanks go to FOMOE, Hillary and all other people who helped in the sorting of this container.

Secondary book sponsorship from Bookland

Following FOMOE, there was another generous donation of secondary school books by the company Bookland International. The manager of the Malawian company which is based in Blantyre is a former schoolmate of MOET’s director Patterson Majonanga. Special thanks to Mr. Hastings Matawere.

MOET Outreach

With “MOET Outreach” the school extends some of its programmes to teach and advise people in the local villages.

In this picture you see the guardians having lunch after a refresher course in the villages. The other picture shows a kitchen garden managed by one guardian.

The bottom pictures show secondary school students in the villages being sponsored by MOET through ELMA. This is a distribution of food and school items.

Women Empowerment Training

The MOET programmes have a component of community outreach especially for women as well. In this programme, 60 women are practicing organic kitchen gardens using the concept of Permaculture.
As most of these women are single parents, they have to be empowered with various skills in order to handle some various challenges faced by these underprivileged households.

Donation to Mangochi District Hospital

MOET also supports other charitable services apart from just concentrating on their own school work.
